These are non-repayable grants for companies that have been hit hard by the crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A further <strong>EUR 4 billion<\/strong> has been made available to restructure so-called ICO loans (state guaranteed bank loans) and recapitalise SMEs.<\/p>\n<h2>What must be complied with?<\/h2>\n<p>The business activity must fall within <strong>one of the 95 categories<\/strong> published by the government. These include tourism, transport, commerce, sports and culture (EuroEconomics has the complete list);<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The annual turnover of 2020<\/strong> must have decreased by <strong>at least 30%<\/strong> compared to 2019;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>2019 profit tax return<\/strong> must have been <strong>positive<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>There must be <strong>no arrears in payments<\/strong> to the Spanish Tax and Social Security Authorities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No dividends<\/strong> may be paid for two years and <strong>management salaries may not be increased<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The company must continue to operate at least <strong>until 30 June 2022<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What does the support consist of?<\/h2>\n<p>Companies with <strong>less than 10 employees<\/strong> can claim <strong>40% of the amount that exceeds the 30% turnover loss<\/strong>. Companies with <strong>more employees<\/strong> can claim <strong>20% of the amount that exceeds the 30% loss of turnover<\/strong>. The minimum aid to be paid is <strong>EUR 4,000<\/strong> and the maximum is \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>EUR 200,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The assessment of the applications and the coordination of the payments will be outsourced to the different sub-regions and it is expected that it will take until at least <strong>April or May<\/strong> before there will be more clarity about the exact application procedures.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the sub-regions themselves may impose additional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"container\" class=\"span8\">\n<div id=\"content\">\n<div id=\"post-16932\" class=\"post\">\n<div class=\"skepost\">\n<h2>More information?<\/h2>\n<p>Do you want more information about this post or about taxes in Spain?
