(English) Institutional investors in Spain looking for assets at bargain prices

After the first corona shock, investment funds are now busy and determined to capitalize on the COVID19 pandemic, and so are institutional investors, financial experts believe. The hotel sector is the sector most affected by the virus and the mobility restrictions, and hotel companies in need of liquidity may have to sell assets.

Financial specialists think institutional investors are interested in taking advantage of the situation once liquidity becomes a problem for Spanish hotel chains.

New focus Spanish hotel chains

Other new tendencies Spanish hotel chains may find interesting are the asset light policy (less assets) and more focused on management and renting. It is also to be expected that some bigger groups take advantage of the actual situation in order to create more solid platforms to protect their competitive advantages.
